BT Archives' searchroom in High Holborn in central London is open to the public, by appointment, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Many items are available to researchers on the open shelves in the searchroom, such as company annual reports and journals as well as a general library on the history of telecommunications. There are also some archive documents and a few artefacts on display, such as the model of the underseas cable-laying ship in the large display case and the small house extension switchboard next to it.
