Science Museum reserve collections, Blythe House, West Kensington: needle telegraphs and radio equipment

The telegraph items include examples of W F Cookes double-needle and four-needle instruments dating from 1838. Also to be seen are the pair of double-needle instruments used at Paddington and Slough on the Great Western Railway and which assisted in the arrest of the murderer John Tawell in 1845.

Visits to Blythe House are by pre-arranged tour or individual appointment.
