The Trimphone was much smaller and lighter than the phones that had gone before. It was available from 1965 and had an illuminated dial, a handle and long cord to allow it to be easily carried from room to room. Its most distinctive feature was the tone ringer that replaced the traditional bell and gave the phone its unique sound.
