Strongroom - GPO files

BT Archives' strongroom is a temperature and humidity controlled storage area, which provides the best environment for the company's archive collections. This view shows the most extensive series of the collection, General Post Office files which date from the 19th century to the mid-20th century. The files cover all aspects of the Post Office's telecommunications operations, from the installation of international telegraph and telephone lines to the arrangements for night staff at rural telephone exchanges.
